National Union of Teachers (England and Wales)

We’re an independent organisation with our own independent decision making structure, but we do enjoy a special relationship with the National Union of Teachers, the organisation which Steve himself led. The NUT makes an annual grant to our funds and we are additionally supported by valuable donations from the NUT’s Local Associations and Divisions. The NUT also generously allows us use of its rooms and facilities in London to host some of our projects and events.

The Steve Sinnott Foundation has partnered with Manisha UK in the reconstruction and redevelopment of three of their schools and is currently promoting Manisha UK’s appeal for funds to assist education reconstruction following the 2015 earthquakes.

EducaAid logo EducAid is a UK registered charity that promotes and provides high quality, holistic education among the underprivileged and war affected young people of Sierra Leone. They believe that the education of young men and women is essential to: unlock human potential, overcome poverty, improve wellbeing, build democracy, and that it is the cornerstone of stable development.

EducAid builds on the foundation of quality education in an environment of equality. In a country where gender equality is so disproportionately biased against women, they ensure that pupils are treated identically, no matter their gender.

EducAid is unique in Sierra Leone in that it aims to build a better future from the bottom up. In their own words: “We start with the future – the children”.

The Steve Sinnott Foundation partners with EducAid in the delivery of cascading teacher training and development programmes.
